United States Steel Corporation (NYSE:X): United States Steel Corporation (NYSE:X) newly reported a first quarter 2012 net loss of about US$219 million, or US$1.52 per diluted share, compared to a first quarter 2011 net loss of about US$86 million, or US$0.60 per diluted share. In addition, the company showed a significant improvement in terms of operating results. For the first quarter of 2012, its reportable segment and Other Businesses income from operations was approximately US$295 million, reversing a loss of US$26 million in the fourth quarter of 2011.
