BEIJING, Feb. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- On February 10, 2011, Hangzhou Mobile TV Multimedia Co., Ltd (Hangzhou New & Mobile Media Company and Hangzhou Mobile Digital TV Company) and TOWONA jointly announced a new cooperation whereby TOWONA received the exclusive advertising rights from Hangzhou New & Mobile for the following seven industries: restaurant chains, food, cleansing products, beverages, cosmetics and skin care products, photographic studios and jewelry, conventions and exhibitions.

According to most recent 2010 data released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), NBS Survey Office in Hangzhou and Hangzhou Bureau of statistics of Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou's GDP per capita has exceeded US$10,000, quickly approaching the standard of some medium-sized developed countries. The city's GDP is also ranked eighth overall in China. With a solid economic development foundation, flourishing city consumer power, Hangzhou has become one of the most important choices for advertisers. At the same time, the city's well-established public transit mobile TV network has provided a stable and effective platform for advertising placement. Hangzhou's public transit mobile TV network provides coverage in all the eight major districts of the city, its installed vehicles exceeded 3,500 which include 3,425 public buses and 101 water buses. The scale and quality of its installed base is ranked first in the country's provincial cities. With daily audience coverage of almost three million and the provision of popular TV contents, the broad reach of audience for advertisements on the public transit mobile TV platform is one of the highest among all the advertising media.

Mr. Gareth Chang, Chairman and CEO of TOWONA said: "Hangzhou is a strategic stronghold of the Yangtze River Delta. With its massive consumer power, Hangzhou's market position is extremely valuable. Advertisers and 4As have historically invested a large amount of resources in capturing this market. Similarly, Hangzhou is also a key fighting ground for mobile TV advertising operators. By winning the exclusive advertising rights for the seven major industries, not only are we in a position to provide our clients with a new promotional platform, enabling us to serve our clients even more effectively, it will also greatly accelerate our business growth. This renewed cooperative model which we are using in Hangzhou is a sensible approach to our concession resource strategy and to our business operations; it will also enhance the sustainable, positive development of the mobile TV platform for the Hangzhou Office of Broadcasting and Television as a whole."

Industry analysts believe that the public transit mobile TV media has now been widely accepted by advertisers and 4As alike, plus having tremendous growth potential. However, a healthy growth and development has not been enjoyed by all mobile TV advertising operators. TOWONA has always focused solely on public transit mobile TV advertising; with its eight years operating experience in this media, TOWONA has accumulated a large number of clients and its growth has entered the expressway. According to the CTR recently released 2010 Bus LCD Rating Research Report, out of the top 22 representative cities, TOWONA are in 16 of these cities. These include Wenzhou, Jinan, Shijiazhuang, and Hefei where the Company has exclusivity; Qingdao, Xiamen, Kunming, and Xian where TOWONA is in absolute leading position; plus Nanjing, Wuhan and other cities where it is number one in specific industries.
