Both Antonio Felix da Costa (POR) and Carlos Sainz jun. head into the conclusion of the season with experience of Macau as well as with great expectations.

MACAU, Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- To some racing drivers the saying applies: "Save The Best For Last!" It is particularly valid for one of the most famous and also legendary races on the international motorsports calendar - the Grand Prix of Macau.

Once more the "who is who" of Formula 3 racing, among others, will compete on the demanding street course in Macau this year.

Every year, the 6.2 km long, renowned "Guia Circuit" ranks among the great challenges in the racing calendar. The narrow and very twisty track first leads up to the old quarter of the former Portuguese colony and then back to the harbour, with its fast sections.

This Grand Prix will be held for the 59th time on November 18th - and the classic F3 Grand Prix will celebrate a grand jubilee, after all the 30th edition of this race is on the agenda, with the thirty best drivers in Formula 3.

For many drivers successful appearances in Macau were the starting signal for a great career. It began in 1983 with the first F3 race in the streets of Macau, with a straight-away victory for the great Ayrton Senna.

Michael Schumacher, David Coulthard as well as Jenson Button, among others, subsequently stepped onto the coveted podium before.  This time two Red Bull Juniors will be on the starting grid - and both drivers already have experience of Macau.

Antonio Felix da Costa (POR), the outstanding driver in the 2012 Formula Renault 3.5 Series, with four wins in the last five races of the season, will compete in the former Portuguese colony for the third time. In 2010, he took a strong sixth place at the first go. Last year, he had to give up owing to a technical failure.

Carlos Sainz jun., committed to three F3 championships this year, won a Formula BMW Asia race in Macau in 2010, with pole position and the fastest lap of the race. He competed in Formula 3 for the first time last year and experienced his most serious accident so far - at a speed of 270 kph.

FdC says: "For me an absolute highlight, one of the greatest races worldwide, with a unique atmosphere. Not only the best F3 drivers are competing, but also guest starters from GP2 and the World Series. After my strong season finale I obviously expect quite a lot here - also following my F1 young drivers' test for Red Bull Racing in Abu Dhabi."

Carlos Sainz jun. says: "Macau is something very special on the racing calendar for me as well, especially as a conclusion to the season. Here I'm able to finish a not all that successful season appropriately after all with a positive performance. I'm going to enjoy the incredibly atmosphere here once again - and hopefully a successful race weekend, too."
