HONG KONG, May 18 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS) announced today its 10th Annual Corporate and Regulatory Update (ACRU) will be held in conjunction with Hong Kong's key regulators: Companies Registry (CR), Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), Official Receiver's Office (ORO) and Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) on 21 May 2009 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

ACRU, traditionally the Institute's the most popular and largest Enhanced Continuing Professional Development (ECPD) event, provides a unique and direct platform for regulators and company secretarial practitioners, legal and accounting professionals to meet and exchange information and ideas about the main regulatory challenges facing Hong Kong. ACRU is a unique event in Hong Kong in that it provides practitioners first-hand information and interaction with Hong Kong's leading regulators.

Hot topics for this year addressed by the SFC and CR include an update on privatisation regulations and electronic incorporation. In addition, HKEx will cover its recent developments in listing policy and administration while the ORO will review the liquidation of companies in Hong Kong and the role of the Official Receiver.

This year marked the tenth anniversary of ACRU and its overwhelming response from the market practitioners and senior executives over the past years proves ACRU remains one of the most insightful and useful events covering the latest developments and changes in corporate law and practice in Hong Kong.
