KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan, Oct. 24 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- As the pre-events of the World Games 2009 starts at the end of October, Kaohsiung Organizing Committee (KOC) will hold a promotion activity named "Charming Kaohsiung, Meet in 2009" in the New World Center in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The conference “Charming Kaohsiung, Meet in 2009” started with the wonderful performance of Top ballroom dancers, Senxiu Wu and Huiyi Lin, Qingwei Chen and Cui Chen. It had a special friendly tug-of-war match between the cities. The athletes of the match were Taiwan World Games participant Jianzhi Huang(arobics), Yun Gong(gymnasium), Jinming Wang(gymnastic coach) and Hong Kong World Games participants Zhaokang Hu(bowling). This not only introduced the popular event of tug-of-war, but also built a bridge of friendship between the two.
To make the Hong Kong people know more about the World Games 2009 and have a deep impression of Taiwan, Kaohsiung. The delicately displayed a short video named Welcome to Kaohsiung in the activity, presenting to the world the growing Kaohsiung and its gorgeous charm. During the activity, the Statue Ambassador of the World Game came as a mysterious guest. Jolin, on behalf of Taiwan, Kaohsiung, welcomed athletes around the world to come to Kaohsiung and take part in this sports feast of strength and beauty. During the activity, two special zones named Kaohsiung Zone and World Games Zone were planed. Kaohsiung Zone introduced nice places for sightseeing and food, while World Games Zone illustrates four spectacular events in the warm-up this year, which are gymnasium, water skiing, korfball and lawn bowls.
