Outdoor advertising in China is one of the fastest growing media areas and has the most extensive reach. The transportation category dominates as each person spends an average of 9.64 hours per week in traffic. The research shows that taxi media can reach affluent and better educated consumers.

With this background, Touchmedia outlined its three-year development plan for Southern China at its Anniversary Client Appreciation Party. The company now has over 40% market share in Guangzhou with 5,000 taxis and it is expanding to 3,000 screens in Shenzhen. In the past 3 years, Touchmedia’s sales have more than doubled every year in Southern China. Du Zuo Xiang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Guangdong Province, Qiu Ke Jun, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Party Disciplinary Committee of Nanfang Daily Media Group, Feng Zhen Nan, Executive Vice President of Guangdong Chamber of Commerce, Yang Ji Liang, Vice President of Guangzhou Taxi Association and other distinguished guests attended the event and congratulated the company on its success.

Installing New 4th Generation and Putting Forward New Functions

In the 4th quarter of this year, Touchmedia will install 3,000 of its new generation 4 units in Shenzhen with enhanced picture quality, touch sensitivity and multiple new screen functions. The latest audit shows Touchmedia reaches over 43 million backseat passengers per month nationwide. Further, studies by clients show that 99 % of passengers prefer interactive media, because it is more entertaining, engaging and allows them to make decisions. With Touchmedia’s screens passengers are able to play interactive games, view products, answer quizzes, do market surveys, download applications or games to their mobile phones, and even receive SMS or MMS coupons. Touchmedia has already collected 7 million contacts provided by passengers for further sales promotions, which means Touchmedia`s clients can carry out customer relation management for their target audience.

In addition, Touchmedia has introduced a number of spectacularly successful new features including time based advertising that changes with different day parts, location based advertising and soon interactive videos.

Diversified Content Targeting High-end Consumers

Mo Yang, Vice President and General Manager of Southern China for Touchmedia noted, "Touchmedia will continue to install screens and our aim is to have more than 10,000 screens in Guangzhou and Shenzhen in the near future. Our clients' support shows the value of an interactive relationship between products and passengers with dramatically higher time, depth and frequency of engagement," He added, "The food, shopping, travel and entertainment guides in the City Living program on our touchscreens has become a major source of lifestyle information for passengers. In addition, Touchmedia is also a key media partner in large-scale events such as concerts and singing contests. For example, for the 'Microphone King and Queen Competition' on Guangdong Zhujiang TV Channel, Touchmedia was the exclusive in-taxi interactive media partner for voting. Campaigns like this have enhanced public interaction with Touchmedia and our impact in the entertainment area."

Micky Fung, Founder and CEO of Touchmedia, commented, "These media trends are occurring because high-end consumers like to choose by themselves and receive information through interactivity, making the advertising more effective, more cost efficient and far more persuasive."
