NEW YORK, May 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- One2touch, an award winning company based in Norway, was selected for a coveted space in the Innovation Showcase by judges from leading companies in the Telecom industry, including AT&T, Juniper, Cisco, Qualcomm, Sprint and Verizon Wireless.

The Innovation Showcase, which takes place at the CTIA Wireless conference in Las Vegas this week, is sponsored by The Telecom Council of Silicon Valley. Companies selected to be included were judged on standard Telecom Council criteria - innovation, momentum, viability, and management.

One2touch's innovative foldable NFC based keyboards for smartphones has been launched in Japan and Norway and will soon be available in the US. These Touch&Type keyboards strengthen the value of use together with smartphones. Today we mostly consume information on smartphones. With Touch&Type keyboards, users can easily produce information and be more efficient, especially on the move.

NFC (Near Field Technology) plays a valuable role in simplifying user interfaces for consumer products and has many benefits over other connectivity technologies. With NFC, it's one tap and the items are paired. This is much simpler than for example pairing a phone to a Bluetooth speaker where you have to discover the device, enter passwords, etc.

"We are pleased to see that our investment in NFC is starting to pay off," says One2touch CEO Morten Wiese. "Even though the mobile payment trend has been slow to take off, NFC has reached a point of no return with 125 million NFC enabled devices shipped in 2012." According to ABI Research the number of NFC devices in use will exceed 500 million in 2014 with an expected minimum shipment of 285 million devices in 2013.

"NFC stakeholders such as mobile operators and OEM's will benefit from the exposure companies like One2touch give to NFC," says Wiese. "There is a need to educate the consumer and exposing them to NFC based products that simplify their lives and make them more productive will help in that regard."

One2touch will show its products and share some insights into new releases and exciting concepts for smartphones and tablets at the Innovation Showcase pavilion at CTIA 5/21-23, booth 3729X.
