Once upon a time, the dragon deity responsible for protecting the community decided to go into the community to see what people need, but was unfortunately trapped. He was then saved by some caring and helpful people in the neighbourhood who helped him back to heaven. To show his gratitude, this Chinese New Year, the dragon deity is going to the Green Bike Dragon Exhibition at Lok Fu Plaza, with the theme of "Building Happy Community" to bestow blessings upon everyone.

Old bikes renovated to match handmade dragon head

Renovated by Gary Chan, the green bike inventor, using the bikes used in The Link's dragon dance last year, the dragon head is one third larger than the one in 2014. The patchwork of the horns and the Chinese paper-cutting patterns of on the dragon face give the fire dragon a traditional yet refreshing look. To maintain the transparency of the fire dragon, the thickness of the pigment has to be well controlled. For this reason, local artist Miss FAT is going to demonstrate her extraordinary painting skills by hand-painting the dragon head.

Dragon body equipped with environmental friendly LED

The dragon body is equipped with a group of environmental friendly LED which increase the difficult for Master Hui to make it and using much more time to get the fire dragon perfectly made comparing the same artwork in last year. During the exhibition, the public will be able to see the exquisite craftsmanship of the fire dragon.
