"Touch Your Heart, Donate For Love" Launches Blood Donor Recruitment Drive in conjunction to 27th International Volunteer Day

SHANGHAI, Dec. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Touchmedia joined hands again with the Shanghai Blood Center, holding a blood donor recruitment drive in the name of "Touch Your Heart, Donate Your Love" at Pudong Thumb Plaza. This event was held in conjunction to the 27th International Volunteer Day (Dec. 5th, 2012) which attracted nearly a hundred volunteers from the Shanghai Blood Center as well as Touchmedia. Together, they worked to share the spirit of giving and charity.

Shen Xiaoming, vice mayor of Shanghai, and Ma Qiang, executive vice-president of the Red Cross Society of China (Shanghai Branch) attended the event to share their support and extended their best wishes to the blood drive effort.

Micky Fung, Founder and Executive Chairman of Touchmedia added: "I am very grateful for the support and help from the community as we continue to contribute our efforts as a socially responsible media company. And we will continue to promote the voluntary blood donor recruitment drive through our Touchmedia interactive screens and in a series of off-line activities."

Since Touchmedia launched the "Touch Your Heart – Donate for Love" blood drive with the Shanghai Blood Center in September of this year, over 30,000 people have applied to be blood donor individuals. The campaign has also joined hands with celebrities and employees from other social giving enterprises to donate blood and encourage others to participate.

Heyson Ma, a well known and popular artist in China, also displayed his support to the blood drive by participating in today's event and was a blood donor. Heyson was supported by his fans with their strong attendance at today's event as well. He said: "This is everyone's responsibility. Devote your strength and heart to help others. As an artist, I will try my best to promote this community service campaign. As a citizen, I also have an obligation to donate blood and save lives." Along with volunteers and his fans, Heyson also sang the theme song of the day's event "The Light of The Heart."

The organizer also set up the blood donation exhibition and physical examination area on the premises. The public can learn about the history events of "Touch Your Heart, Donate For Love" campaign as well as some tips on blood donation in the exhibition area, with volunteers present in the examination area supporting the public and answering their questions related to blood donation.
