Asian Seafood Exposition Featuring Frozen Food Asia Presents Networking Opportunities

PORTLAND, Maine, Sept. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Asian Seafood Exposition featuring Frozen Food Asia will take place next week, 11-13 September at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre in Wanchai, Hong Kong.  During the three-day event, attendees will have access to a wide range of companies offering seafood and frozen-food products for mainland China, Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region.  Their visit will also be enriched by a series of networking and educational events, as well as culinary demonstrations.

Educational sessions:

Chinese Seafood Consumers: A Survey of Retail-Purchasing Behaviors, presented by Fiona Robinson, Editor, Associate Publisher, SeaFood Business magazine on Wednesday, 12 September from 11:30 to 12:00.  This presentation, based on a recent report produced by SeafoodSource.com, will cover consumer trends in the rapidly growing Chinese market for fish and seafood.

Seafood Summit: Leading Voices on Asia's Role in Sustainable Seafood is a panel discussion moderated by Philip Chou, Senior Manager, SeaWeb. Panelists include Dawn Martin, President, SeaWeb, Peter Redmayne, President, Sea Fare Group, Richard Stevens, RD&E Manager, Western Australian Fishing Industry Council and Samuel Chou, Chief Operating Officer, Luen Thai Fishing Ventures, who will offer an overview of the sustainable seafood movement and where Asia is along its arc.  This event will be held on Wednesday, 12 September from 14:30 to 15:30.

Culinary Demonstrations:

Tasmanian Seafoods will have a demonstrations and sampling of its abalone on Tuesday, 11 September from 11:30 to 12:00. 

Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada will present a culinary demonstration of Western and Chinese cuisine by Chef Mak Kam-Kui, Executive Sous Chef, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Chef Kenny Chan Kwok-Keung, Champion Chef on TVB Jade's series, "Apprentice Chef".  The demonstration will be on Tuesday, 11 September from 14:00 to 15:45.

Networking Receptions:

All exhibitors and attendees are invited to attend the following receptions.

A Welcome Reception, partnered with the Hong Kong Tourism Board and Meetings & Exhibition Hong Kong, will be held on Tuesday, 11 September from 16:30 to 18:00.  Appetizers and beverages will be served while key players in the industry are networking.

The Global Embassy & Trade Commission Reception, sponsored by SeaWeb, will take place on Wednesday, 12 September from 16:00 to 18:00.  This reception is an opportunity for attendees and exhibitors to connect with representatives from Embassies and Trade Commissions from around the world and gain an understanding of the process and requirements for these representatives to link international buyers with suppliers from their countries.
