Paul Whiteway, Senior Director for APAC at Skyscanner, comments:
"With the Spring break holidays fast approaching, many Australians who have had international holiday plans affected by travel restrictions, are looking to domestic favourites for some Spring sun. We've seen bookings for favourites beach destinations such as Cairns and Gold Coast shoot to the top of the list over the last few weeks. Some of the bigger city destinations such as Brisbane and Adelaide that you would expect to see also feature highly in the top ten suggesting many Australians may be using the time off to reconnect with friends and families around the country. At Skyscanner we're doing as much as we can to update advice and details for travellers during the pandemic including dedicated advice pages to support travellers during the COVID-19 pandemic, flexible booking policy filters for flights and hotels for last minute changes, and airline hygiene safety and hotel cleanliness ratings, to help travellers book with peace of mind when they're searching for the perfect getaway."
