MACAU, July 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The brand that brought what is now recognised as "The Portuguese Egg Tart" to Asia is turning twenty-five this year! A recipe concept developed in Macau by Andrew Stow, the small bakery located on Macau's outer-most island of Coloane has become globally famous and even given life to the egg tart concept through franchises in Japan and the Philippines. The unique-to-Macau recipe has remained a significant draw for tourists to visit the small island of Coloane and is often included in Macau's "Must See" attraction lists.
Given the name "Lord Stow" by the local population, accolades for Andrew's success included The Medal of Merit for Services to Tourism given to him by the Macau Government in 2006. He successfully developed not only a unique recipe that tasted great, but a brand that put Coloane on the map and helped elevate the awareness of unique Macau-made products.
After his tragic passing in 2006, Andrew's sister Eileen Stow and his daughter, Audrey Stow took the reins of the Lord Stow business. They have continued to work hard to grow the brand's presence in Macau and elsewhere in Asia, maintaining the high standards that Andrew held so dear.
On September 15th, 2014 Lord Stow's Bakery will celebrate twenty-five years as an icon in the Macau market. To help promote this amazing milestone, the Bakery is bedecked with celebratory decorations and has placed a "25 Year Anniversary" stamp on customer collateral relating to Andrew's signature products.
