Jocom Successfully Launched a Bonded Warehouse in Taiyuan, China

TAIYUAN, China, Dec. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Jocom MShopping Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia's first grocery app had officially launched a bonded warehouse in Taiyuan, Shanxi China. The successful launch of the bonded warehouse marks the official entry of Jocom into the China market thus enabling it to export Malaysian products into China.

Joining the launch is Dato's Ng Wan Peng, Chief Operation Officer of Malaysia Digital Economic Corporation, and Mr. Foong Teck Zhi, the Director General of Custom Port Authority of Shanxi Province. The bonded warehouse is an incentive given to Jocom by the Taiyuan Custom Authority for Malaysian SME industries to export to China via Taiyuan and it offers free warehousing for Malaysia SME with conditional offer to be stored in the bonded house. Therefore Malaysian SME can take advantage of such facilities offered by Jocom in Taiyuan hence enabling exporting into China.

Jocom Managing Director, Agnes Chua further added that this project is a 3-month intense follow up with the Taiyuan Custom Authority and what people see today is the relentless spirit of "Malaysia Boleh". Behind closed door, numerous negotiation took place especially with the compliance of Quarantine Inspection Safety -- QIS standard of China.

While Joshua Sew, the Executive Director of Jocom remarked that, at first it seems impossible to have landed this bonded warehouse arrangement because the system integration of the QIS is complicated, but the Malaysian team in Jocom managed to link the programme between Jocom and Taiyuan Custom Authority therefore enabling a seamless online transaction to take place between both parties seamlessly.

Jocom currently exports Malaysian products to Taiyuan and among the range that it carries are products from F&N soft drinks, Maggi products such as premium instant noodles, white coffee, durian by products, snacks and etc. It welcomes Malaysian SMEs to be on board on Jocom e-marketplace platform so that there will be opportunity for these businesses to export to China via Jocom platform.
