Mr Hutchins was first elected as Chairman in 2016 and was re-elected without any opposition. Under his leadership, AmCham has revitalized the Chamber's strategic oversight, policy directions and governance. Prior to his election, Mr Hutchins was already an active member of AmCham, and has been a member of the Board of Governors since 2014. His involvement with the American business community has been invaluable, spurring the development and success of AmCham in recent years, as the Chamber enjoys strong growth in membership and activities, while still remaining financially sustainable.

On his re-election, Mr Hutchins said that he "looked forward to leading the Chamber for another year, as AmCham Singapore hosts the 28 AmChams across Asia-Pacific at the annual Business Summit in 2020. The priority for the year will be to ensure we maintain a strong Chamber that continues to help our members understand and successfully navigate a dynamic trade environment bookended by growing Asian markets and rapidly evolving trade relations with China. The Summit provides yet another opportunity to highlight Singapore as America's Business Headquarters in the Indo-Pacific, further strengthen our partnership with the Singapore Government, and leverage AmCham Singapore's capabilities as the leading business chamber in Singapore and the region to deliver increased prosperity for all."

U.S. Embassy Singapore Charge d'Affaires, a.i., Stephanie Syptak-Ramnath said, "The number of U.S. companies in Singapore has increased by 20% over the past three years thanks in part to AmCham's strong advocacy efforts. These American companies play an important role in advancing prosperity for the people of the United States, Singapore, and the region. AmCham's latest initiative, City Hall Dialogues, is a great example of building new bridges through discussions with Government of Singapore officials and AmCham members. We are proud of the excellent ongoing collaboration between the U.S. Embassy and AmCham and we know AmCham will remain a force for progress and innovation under the outstanding leadership of Dwight and the Board of Governors."

AmCham is the largest and most active international business association in Singapore and Southeast Asia, with over 5,200 members representing more than 700 companies. It provides advocacy, business insights, and connections for American businesses in Singapore and the region. The chamber is comprised of 13 industry specific committees, and conducts nearly 250 events annually.

As an APAC Managing Director, Mr Hutchins currently leads Accenture's Consumer Strategy practice across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. He is responsible for helping Accenture's clients improve their competitiveness and performance in the region. He has extensive experience in public policy, and global consulting in banking and manufacturing.
