The Company's Mingxiang® Brand Partners with NSTC to Promote Its Image
SHISHI, China, March 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- China Marine Food Group Limited (NYSE Amex: CMFO) ("China Marine" or the "Company"), a China-based manufacturer of Mingxiang(R) seafood-based snack foods, "Hi-Power" marine algae-based beverages, and distributor of frozen marine catch, today announced that its Mingxiang® brand has become a partner of the National Sports Training Center ("NSTC"). As part of this partnership, the NSTC has endorsed "Hi-Power" as the exclusive algae-based nutritional beverage for its athletes.
"We are honored to become a strategic partner of NSTC," stated Mr. Pengfei Liu, Chairman and CEO of China Marine. "The association of our products with the NSTC's impeccable reputation for health and fitness, sports science and technology advancement, and nationalistic pride will be a tremendous long-term benefit to our Mingxiang®-branded products and particularly our "Hi-Power" beverages. The 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing created broad domestic awareness of Chinese athletes and fame for many medalists. We look forward to collaborating with the NSTC and its athletes in upcoming regional events and international competitions leading up to the 2012 Olympics."
The NSTC is the leading Chinese sporting association and a base camp for China's Olympic teams and many Olympic and national champions. All together, 13 national teams train year round at NSTC's 15 facilities across 10 sports including; basketball, gymnastics, swimming, track and field and diving. "Hi Power" will sponsor select NSTC events over the next three years through television, print and online advertisements. Combined with onsite marketing and promotions, China Marine anticipates this program will expand "Hi Power"'s product recognition to wider audience of young consumers.
Beginning the last weeks of March 2011, elite athletes of select national teams will be supplied with "Hi-Power" beverages to assist with an athlete's health, performance and recovery. For endurance sports such as basketball, swimming and track and field, Hi-Power will supplement the athletes' existing nutritional programs.
"Hi-Power will leverage NSTC's endorsement and national reach to expand its brand awareness and distribution," Mr. Liu concluded.
