SINGAPORE, Nov. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham) celebrated Thanksgiving with a Singaporean twist. On the eve of the iconic American holiday, AmCham members of all nationalities came together to raise funds for AmCham's charity of the year, the Yellow Ribbon Fund, by playing golf at the Stamford American AmCham Charity Thanksgiving Golf Tournament.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving as well as the SG50 jubilee, AmCham member companies and members raised over SG$50,000 for the Yellow Ribbon Fund. U.S. Ambassador to Singapore Kirk Wagar, Citi Head of ASEAN and Country Officer for Singapore Michael Zink, and Stamford American International School Superintendent Malcolm Kay presented the check to Yellow Ribbon Fund Board Member Colin Low.
Judith Fergin, Executive Director of AmCham Singapore said, "AmCham is inspired by the Yellow Ribbon Fund's important work. Our partnership has enabled our members to give back to Singaporean society in an effective and meaningful way."
Yellow Ribbon Fund Chairman Wong Ai Ai said, "We are proud that AmCham selected the Yellow Ribbon Fund as its charity of the year for each of the last three years. AmCham's support not only raises much-needed funds, but also increases the visibility of our efforts to give our beneficiaries a second chance to be a part of society again."
Title sponsor Stamford American International School, presenting sponsors Becton Dickinson, Citi, and Expat Dental, and a host of other sponsors contributed cash and prizes to make the 2015 Stamford American Amcham Charity Golf Tournament such a success.
