MACAO, March 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sands China Ltd. properties turned off their exterior and non-essential lights for one hour Saturday at 8:30 p.m., joining businesses and homes around the world for Earth Hour for the eighth straight year. The annual event aims to raise global awareness of climate change. All Sands China properties -- Sands® Macao, The Venetian® Macao, The Plaza™ Macao featuring Four Seasons, and Sands® Cotai Central featuring St. Regis, Conrad, Sheraton and Holiday Inn -- supported the lights-out event, together with the project site of The Parisian Macao.
In the week leading up to Earth Hour, Sands China encouraged team members to participate in the global I Will If You Will challenge (IWIYW) with initiatives like adjusting thermostats and switching to LED bulbs, which was met with positive response by team members.
Sands China's participation in Earth Hour is part of the ongoing environmental sustainability efforts of Sands ECO360°, the global sustainability programme of Sands China's parent company, Las Vegas Sands Corp.
