LONDON, May 7, 2014/PRNewswire/ --

NetNames, the global leader in online brand protection and corporate domain name management has acquired Adicio, a leader in corporate domain name management in the Singapore market.

Adicio has been NetNames' partner in Singapore for over ten years, providing access for companies in the South East Asia region to NetNames' global domain name registration platform. This new closer integration will now also provide access for South East Asian corporations to NetNames' industry-leading online brand protection services, which are used by many global brands to prevent counterfeit sales and other forms of online brand infringement. Chan Loy Lye, founder and Managing Director of Adicio, will continue to lead the business under the NetNames brand.

Commenting on the deal, Chan Loy Lye said: "Our partnership with Netnames enabled customers to register domains across every territory worldwide. Extending this to encompass Brand Protection services comes just at a time when customers are aware of the threats of online piracy leading to the need to safeguard their Intellectual Property. Adicio's customers will certainly benefit from the wealth of expertise and support from the Netnames organisation."

Gary McIlraith, CEO of NetNames commented: "Adicio has been a successful partner to NetNames for some time and already serves an impressive list of corporations. We are seeing growth in the number, scale and global reach of brands domiciled in the South East Asia region and we believe that there will be an increasing demand from corporates in the region for the comprehensive and integrated set of online brand protection services that NetNames provides to many large companies in Europe and the US. Combined with our announcement last week of our entry into the Australian market, this acquisition of Adicio significantly strengthens NetNames' capabilities in the APAC region."
