YANGON, Myanmar, Nov. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The partnership between LSBF and MIB is now accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) -- the world's leading body for professional accountants.
The institution was awarded Silver Approved Learning Partner (ALP) Status by the ACCA last week.
The newly approved accreditation means that Burmese professionals pursuing professional ACCA qualification are assured to receive quality training in accountancy through LSBF-MIB.
The accreditation also underpins moves to strengthen the human resource capacity for the financial services industry in the developing country and better position LSBF as a major educator in accountancy training and qualifications in the South East Asia.
The ACCA accreditation followed an application submitted by the LSBF in Singapore which was bolstered by the fact that the institution is already a well-established ACCA Platinum ALP in Singapore.
And although the ACCA accreditation is an initiative of the LSBF, it fits into the broader government's movement in strengthening the financial services industry which is one of its national priority in Myanmar.
Managing Director of LSBF in Singapore, Rathakrishnan Govind describes the accreditation as a positive development for the institution and the wider financial services industry.
He is keen to see a rise in the number of accountants who obtain their qualifications locally (in Myanmar).

The addition of this accreditation will help strengthen not only the capacity of the local accounting firms, but also the Myanmar's business sector as a whole.
