BANGKOK, March 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ASEANbeauty 2015 will run from April 8 to 10, 2015, at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC Bangna) in Bangkok's Bang Na district. Manufacturers will exhibit products from more than 200 famous cosmetics brands at the event, which is expected to draw in over 8,000 visitors. During what promises to be a grand occasion, visitors will find providers of various interesting products and services and also opportunities to attend seminars useful to their businesses. The association has now pledged its full support and cooperation to the event.

"We are pleased to be a co-host of ASEANbeauty 2015 alongside UBM Asia. Thailand is now ready to take up the role of hosting the biggest beauty fair in Southeast Asia which will provide an efficient forum for manufacturers and buyers to get together. Information on the overall beauty industry will also be available at ASEANbeauty 2015", says Mrs. Ketmanee.

Today, Thailand is already a leader in the world beauty industry, with the country's cosmetics market the largest in Southeast Asia. The thriving cosmetics industry has also boosted many related industries, creating jobs and generating income for people, while current health, fashion, and lifestyle trends have further encouraged growth.

Statistics show that Thailand's cosmetics market is worth roughly Bt 250 billion a year, of which Bt 150 billion is from domestic consumption and about Bt 100 billion from exports. The annual growth rate ranges between eight and 10 percent on average.

"In some years, the cosmetics industry grew by as much as 25 - 30 percent. This remarkable growth rate was achieved when there were no adverse impacts from other factors so we are confident that this industry has tremendous potential to grow even further. Thailand has been a cosmetics hub in the region, achieving the highest cosmetics exports among ASEAN nations. If categorised by products, we are also the world's biggest exporter of hair care products and the world's 12th biggest exporter of skincare products. Thailand has been the manufacturing base of internationally famous brands for well over 40 years already", according to Mrs. Ketmanee.

The president of the Thai Cosmetic Manufacturers Association says Thailand has solid potential in the cosmetics industry, especially when taking into account the fact that local herbs can be turned into more than 200,000 cosmetic ingredients. She says she is thus looking forward to the government's solid support for the sector, emphasising that the participation of Thai entrepreneurs' in international fairs can empower Thai businesses.

Mr. M Gandhi, ASEAN Business UBM Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Managing Directorsays ASEANbeauty 2015 features beauty products and related seminars for Southeast Asia with the official support of the Thai Cosmetic Manufacturers Association, relevant government agencies and also many other organisations in the beauty industry.

"After our success in staging Asia-level beauty fairs, UBM has decided to organise such a fair in Thailand as well. This year will be a first for ASEANbeauty and throughout its three days entrepreneurs will find plenty of activities in which to connect with new business partners, attend useful seminars, and take part in useful workshops", he says.

ASEANbeauty 2015 is set to feature more than 200 exhibitors, all of them involved in the manufacturing and distribution of cosmetics. The event will also present information on the beauty industry, along with insights and activities designed to update visitors about the latest innovations in the field, thus allowing participating entrepreneurs to sharpen their business vision.

According to Mr. Gandhi, Thailand's cosmetics industry is appealing because it has usually remained immune to the country's economic woes. The annual growth rate of the cosmetics industry has always soared above 10 percent, regardless of economic conditions and the country has achieved huge cosmetics exports each year, delivering both products under Thai brands and products made under OEM (original equipment manufacturers) contracts to overseas markets. According to available records, Thailand exported more than Bt 200 billion of cosmetics in 2013.

"Thailand's cosmetics industry has ample opportunities; when compared with other countries, it boasts more extensive experiences. The establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community will also bring finished cosmetic products' import duties to zero across Southeast Asian nations, making it easier for Thai made cosmetics to reach people overseas. It will also allow Thai cosmetics products to offer a more competitive price in overseas markets", says Mr. Gandhi.

The latest statistics show Thailand has been a manufacturing base for cosmetics exported to various countries with the main markets being Japan (accounting for 21 percent of exports), Indonesia, (accounting for nine percent); the Philippines and Malaysia (accounting for eight percent each); Australia (accounting for six percent); Cambodia (accounting for five percent); China, Britain, Myanmar (accounting for four percent each); and non-Asian nations such as the United States and Europe (accounting for 26 percent).

Brought to Thailand by UBM for the first time, ASEANbeauty 2015 will be held under a budget of well over Bt 15million. More than 95 percent of exhibitors have already confirmed their participation in the upcoming event, which is expected to empower Thai entrepreneurs and pave the way for them to expand their businesses even further.

Held at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), ASEANbeauty 2015 will run from April 8 to 10, 2015. Exhibitors will come from 15 countries from around the world, covering a wide range of world-class products under more than 200 brands. This event also promises to forge strong networks of entrepreneurs for the future.
