BEIJING, Jan. 4 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Huaneng Power International, Inc. (the "Company") (NYSE: HNP; HKEx: 902; SSE: 600011) announced that the agreement entered into between the Company and Huaneng International Power Development Corporation ("HIPDC") on 3 December 2007 relating to the acquisition of equity interests in Huaneng Nanjing Jinling Power Limited Company ("Transfer Agreement") has been approved by the
State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council on 29 December 2007. The Company has paid the consideration of the acquisition to HIPDC in full in accordance with the Transfer Agreement. All conditions of the Transfer Agreement have been satisfied and the acquisition has basically been completed.
Upon completion of the acquisition, the Company’s total generation capacity in an equity basis has increased by 468MW. To date, the Company’s total generation capacity on an equity basis has increased from 32,107MW to 32,575MW.
Huaneng Power International, Inc. develops, constructs, operates and manages large-scale power plants in China nationwide, with a total generation capacity of 32,575MW on an equity basis and a total controlling generation capacity of 37,404MW. The Company wholly owns seventeen operating power plants, and has controlling interests in thirteen operating power companies and minority interests in five operating power companies. Currently, it is one of the largest listed power producers in China.
