May highlights:

  • Nissan market share rose 2 percent in Thailand despite a significant drop in the country's total automotive sales. Almera was the main contributor to sales, recording 1,220 units.
  • Australia sales were up 7.5 percent, mainly driven by the all-new X-Trail (1,070 units) and Dualis (1,190 units).
  • Nissan continues to expand its manufacturing footprint in the ASEAN region as scheduled; the opening of the second plant in Indonesia paved the way for the introduction of Datsun Go+ in the country. The first 5+2 MPV in the segment went on sale May 8 and has received more than 3,000 bookings as of the end of May.
  • Sales in other markets within the region have grown significantly, with Vietnam up 47%, Singapore up 96%, New Zealand up 46% and Korea up 37% compared to prior year.
