Payment Risk and Security Professionals to Tackle Credit Card Security Issues in Amsterdam

2014-09-30 23:30 2299

LONDON, September 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Many considered 2013 to be the "Year of the Data Breach", but 2014 is giving last year a run for its money- Millions of records have been lost to hacking this year, on a scale that already rivals or surpasses all previous years. Hacking is a growing threat to enterprises and consumers alike, and there is a growing need for better data security solutions.

To meet that need, regional data security professionals tasked with securing payment systems, protecting cardholder data and meeting Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) will congregate at the 8th Annual PCI Europe conference at Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The event's agenda provides practical guidance and real life case studies, as well as ample networking opportunities for data security practitioners interested in deepening their subject knowledge and discussing the recent changes to the PCI DSS.

Stephen Cavey, the Director of Corporate Development for Ground Labs, strongly believes that the PCI DSS is an important standard for businesses to adhere to not only for the sake of attaining mandatory compliance, but for making yourself that much less susceptible to suffering a data breach.

"Data breaches affect millions of customers yearly, and cost companies millions of euros to clean up after," Mr. Cavey said. "The PCI DSS is a great set of guidelines for companies dealing with sensitive customer data, and achieving and maintaining a state of compliance is your best bet at staying secure."

Ground Labs, a sensitive data discovery tool developer, is sponsoring PCI Europe and will be delivering main stage presentations, education sessions on data discovery, as well as appearing in the event's vendor showcase. The company will be providing live demos of Card Recon, Enterprise Recon and Data Recon, its three flagship softwares designed to detect over 95 types of sensitive data storage risks on computer systems.

PCI Europe's conference in Amsterdam will be held on the 27th of November 2014. More information is available on the PCI Europe website.
