TCL Communication Announces Shipment Figures of Handsets and Other Products for November

HONG KONG, Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TCL Communication Technology Holdings Limited ("TCL Communication" or the "Company" which, together with its subsidiaries and its affiliates, is referred to as the "Group"; HKSE stock code: 2618) today announced the unaudited figures for shipments of handsets and other products in November and the first eleven months of 2015.

The Group's total sales volume of handsets and other products increased by 13% year-on year to 9,325,000 units in November 2015. Sales volume of handsets and other products in overseas markets increased by 15% year-on-year to 8,613,000 units, while shipments in the China market totalled 712,000 units. The Group has achieved a new record of sales volume of smart devices at 5,468,000 units in November, up by 7% year-on-year and accounted for 59% of the Group's total shipment for the month. For the first eleven months of 2015, the cumulative sales volume of handsets and other products amounted to 74,646,000 units, representing an increase of 15% year-on-year, while the cumulative sales volume of smart devices reached 43,255,000 units, representing a 20% year-on-year growth.

TCL Communication announced that with effect from 4 December 2015, Mr. YANG Zhe joined the Group and has been appointed as the Company's Chief Operating Officer and the President (China region). Mr. WANG Jiyang resigned as the Chief Operating Officer and the President (China region) of the Company for health reasons but will remain as an Executive Director of the Company. Mr. YANG has over 24 years of experience in marketing management in which over 14 years of experience was in telecommunications industry and has held senior positions at Huawei Device and Samsung Electronics.

The Group and China Telecom joined hands to advertise the brand slogan "TCL & China Telecom, Faster 4G+ Speed" on the large screen at New York's Times Square on 2 December to support the recent launch of "Tianyi 4G+" brand by China Telecom. The partnership not only demonstrated the strong alliance between the Group and China Telecom, but also promoted Joy 2, the upcoming "4G+" handset. On the same day, the Group teamed up with China Telecom to host Joy 2 & 2C  product launch with the theme "4G+, Play for Fun". TCL Joy 2 is equipped with fingerprint recognition, infrared remote controller and the China Telecom 4G+ network which successfully attracted the public. Meanwhile, twenty internet enterprises, namely UC Browser, Antutu, Baiduwaimai, Dianping.com, etc uploaded the innovative Joy 2 poster onto their official weibo for promotion.

Apart from these, the Group's brand, ALCATEL ONETOUCH was named the official smartphone partner of New York City Football Club (NYCFC) in October, which further raised its brand exposure in North America. In the same month, the Group's recently launched 17.3" Big Pad, Xess, was awarded the "China Good Design" Award organised by the Red Dot Institution, in recognition of the Group's innovation and R&D achievements.
