KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On 18 October 2014, more than 200 runners and 50 volunteers convened at the Kepong Botanical Garden (KBG) area of the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) for the flag off of the 5th annual Frost & Sullivan "Frost the Trail" run for corporate social responsibility.

Frost the Trail, with the support of Gold Donor Perunding Endah Alam, aims to raise funds for the adopted charity, Shelter Home for Children, as well as instil an appreciation for nature and the environment. Frost the Trail collected RM55,000 in donations, 100% of which is going directly to Shelter Home.

Frost the Trail KL Corporate Challenge 2014 saw teams of four runners and individual runners each having to complete a challenging trail through FRIM that covers a lap around the scenic lake route of KBG, followed by a track through the jungle and ending with a sprint over a rugged track. The team winners were tabulated based on the time each team of four managed to complete the circuit.

Mr. Hazmi Yusof, Country Head for Frost & Sullivan Malaysia said, "We are grateful for the support we've received from corporate as well as individuals for the Frost the Trail charity run. The generous support will go a long way in enabling Shelter Home to provide a stable home and good education for the children. We hope that next year's Frost the Trail run, happening in October 2015, will continue to grow," he continued.

Also in attendance was Mr. Manoj Menon, Senior Partner & Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Managing Director and Mr. Thomas Tay, Chairman of Frost the Trail.
