Finalists of the Inaugural Hong Kong LGBT Workplace Inclusion Awards Announced

Over 50 awards nominations received for four awards

HONG KONG, April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Business, a not-for-profit organisation focusing on corporate responsibility and a thought leader on Diversity & Inclusion, today announces the finalists for the awards associated with its inaugural Hong Kong LGBT Workplace Inclusion Index, including LGBT Network Award, LGBT Inclusion Champion Award, LGBT Executive Sponsor Award and LGBT Community Impact Award sponsored by Goldman Sachs.

The Hong Kong LGBT Workplace Inclusion Index is the first and only benchmark on workplace inclusion practices and initiatives for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees in Asia. Launched by Community Business, it is a pioneering initiative that provides companies in Hong Kong with a credible and robust tool to assess, progress and promote their efforts towards LGBT inclusion.

LGBT Network Award
To recognise an employee network that has played a proactive role in promoting LGBT inclusion and demonstrated strong engagement with and commitment to local Hong Kong LGBT employees.

To recognise an employee based in Hong Kong who has taken proactive and effective steps to create an LGBT inclusive culture in the organisation.

To recognise a senior executive sponsor based in Hong Kong who has spoken up and used his/her influence to promote LGBT inclusion internally and/or externally.

To assist with the selection of the final winner for each award, Community Business enlisted the support of a panel of independent judges. The judges included:

The final winner for each of the awards and the Top 10 Employers for LGBT Inclusion in Hong Kong 2015 will be announced on 15 May 2015 at the Awards Ceremony taking place at the Regal Hong Kong Hotel, in commemoration of International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT).  

Tickets are selling fast for this prestigious event where Community Business, together with a full house of 200 delegates, will celebrate the achievements and collective efforts in driving positive change. To commemorate IDAHOT, delegates are encouraged to wear purple or business attire with a touch of purple.
