BGE Among Chinese Delegation at Sino-UK Environmental Protection Technology Summit in London

LONDON, Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As a part of China's efforts to step up global environment governance and seek broader international cooperation in the environmental protection industry, a Chinese delegation, led by China Environmental Science Academy, arrived in London to participate in the "Sino-UK Environmental Protection Technology Summit" held by the Chinese and UK governments since Wednesday.

The world's second largest economy is currently implementing its One-Belt-One-Road initiative, an ambitious infrastructure plan that aims to connect China to Europe, and during the five-day summit participants from China will discuss industrial development at length with officials from the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) and British Chambers of Commerce.

In a keynote speech about site remediation technologies and its challenges, Ling Jinming, executive director of Beijing GeoEnviron Engineering & Technology Inc. (BGE), was invited to introduce the company's experience in China over the past two decades.

As a pioneer in the industry, BGE has been focusing on environmental governance since 1992 and has become a leading player in the site remediation industry.

The company entered the international market as early as 2006, and has taken part in many high-profile projects, including a World Bank project about pollution control in Kazakhstan. To promote industrial upgrading, BGE has also introduced advanced waste incineration technology (third generation) from Germany.

As part of efforts to boost international cooperation, BGE has established an R&D center with Stiefel Delegation from Switzerland, and a sludge research center with i+M GmbH & Co.KG from Germany.

Members from the Chinese delegation also paid a visit to leading companies in the UK, including sustainability and environmental consultancy Atkins, waste management leader Biffa Group, and energy assessor and certification body Quidos, during their stay in the UK.

Chinese companies at the summit said they hoped it would offer a platform to boost strategic cooperation and bilateral relations to achieve further comprehensive innovation and technological upgrading.
