Tokyo Prince Hotel Renovates Guest Rooms, Others for Upcoming Second Tokyo Olympics, Reopening on April 1, 2017

- All Guest Rooms, Lobby Area, Restaurants Remodeled -TOKYO, Feb. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Prince Hotels, Inc. will remodel the guest rooms (462 rooms in total), lobby area (1F) and restaurants of the Tokyo Prince Hotel, located at 3-3-1 Shibakoen, Minato-ku, Tokyo, and reopen it on April 1, 2017 (Saturday).

The Tokyo Prince Hotel opened for business in 1964, the year of the first Tokyo Olympics, and has welcomed many guests in conjunction with Japan's economic growth. The central Shibakoen area location offers convenient transportation access and is also home to such emblematic tourist attractions as Tokyo Tower and Zojoji Temple. As redevelopment of the surrounding areas proceeds, it is anticipated that in the future many guests from within and outside Japan will gather and make their base in Tokyo here.

1. Guest Rooms (4F-11F, 462 rooms in total)
Rooms to be divided into 3 floors according to purpose: business use mainly catering to overseas visitors; group use from MICE; and tourists.
Clarification of functions for each floor.

(1) Clarification of functions for each floor
- Club Floor (11F: 32 rooms), New
For use of 1 domestic or international business visitor. Mainly comprises king rooms and double rooms with hospitable service provided in an elegant setting.

- Upper Floor (9-10F, 134 rooms), New
For use of 1-2 leisure or business visitors. 30 double rooms have been added.

- 4-8F
For the use of domestic or international groups. 30 twin rooms accommodating 3 guests have been added; moreover, single rooms modified to double rooms for up to 2 guests.

(2) Introduction of Wi-Fi network and mobile devices
To enable a pleasant business environment, Wi-Fi networks will be installed.

(3) Construction of Club Lounge (1F)
A lounge will be constructed for exclusive use of guests staying on the Club Floor (11F), providing check-in services and meals.

2. Lobby Area
The Lobby (1F), which welcomes numerous visitors ranging from staying guests to those attending hotel functions, will be remodeled as refined space with an imposing color scheme where splendor can be felt amidst tradition. To reduce congestion and preserve a pleasant atmosphere, designated space will be set up for the use of guests in groups.

3. Restaurant
(1) Buffet Restaurant (3F)
The main dining establishment in the Tokyo Prince Hotel. Reopening as a main restaurant overflowing with energy. The restaurant will feature Japanese, Western and Chinese cuisine buffet stations prominently arranged in the center area.

Role of Prince Hotels in the Shibakoen area
The two Prince Hotels in the Shibakoen area (The Prince Park Tower Tokyo and Tokyo Prince Hotel) are located in the city but surrounded by greenery, and are adjacent to tourist attractions emblematic of Tokyo such as Tokyo Tower and Zojoji Temple. Featuring a grand total of over 1,000 guest rooms and over 1,000 m2 of big banquet hall space, the hotels can be used for MICE in addition to sightseeing.
