TOKYO, Mar. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- TEPCO, the owner of the damaged Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, is seeking to expand its technology collaboration with partners in the long-term work to decontaminate and decommission the site, as well as the broad range of its power generation and distribution businesses.

During the six years since the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami that led to the accident, TEPCO has been working with many partners, such as Toshiba and Hitachi, in the development of innovative robots and other technologies. Their purposes have ranged from exploration inside reactor units to water purification, and many other tasks.

Now, through a new website (see links below), TEPCO is seeking additional technology partners, both for the continuing work at Fukushima, as well as to help it improve the quality of electricity production and distribution, and to help conserve energy.

Of particular interest to TEPCO are:

Decommissioning-related

  • Technology for reducing the volume of waste, such as plastic and polyethylene, used in water storage tanks that store RO-concentrated salt water. https://cuusoo.com/projects/49863
  • Consulting services about methods for on-site recycling in order to reduce the amount of radioactive solid waste being generated.
