Tourist Administration of Guangdong Province and Its French Counterparts Explore Cooperation

PARIS, July 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Tourist Administration of Guangdong Province (TAGP) held the 2017 China Guangdong) - France Tourism Industry Exchange Meeting in Paris on June 26, with an aim to advance Sino-French cooperation in tourism through demonstrating its own abundant tourism resources and quality services.

According to the on-site speech of Zeng Yingru, Director of TAGP, Guangdong and France have seen increasingly close cooperative ties in tourism and a constant rise of mutual visits in recent years. In 2016, Guangdong tourists made 123,000 visits to France and Guangdong received 153,000 overnight tourists from France. She hoped that this exchange meeting could strengthen the bilateral cooperation in tourism development and administration to explore joint development of tourism resources and quality tour routes.

On the spot of the meeting, TAGP intensively demonstrated the four tourism highlights of Guangdong Province - Lingnan culture, dynamic business districts, golden beaches and centers of delicacies, focusing on the two world heritages within its territory - Danxia Mountain and Kaiping Watchtowers and presenting, from different perspectives, the abundant tourism resources, supporting service facilities and convenience measures in the province.

Jean-Baptiste Cazaubon, Director of the International Affairs Division of Atout France attended the meeting and noted that exchanging ideas with the Chinese counterparts is conducive to improving the tourist reception level of France and enhancing mutual understanding since China is a significant tourist source country of France. He said a quarter of the Chinese tourists have chosen France
as their destination of visit to Europe and hoped more European tourists would visit China, especially Guangdong.

Mu Yuwei, Director of the Office of China National Tourism Administration in Paris said that Guangdong has been attracting tourists from around the globe over the years because of its identity as an economically prosperous province as well as its abundant historical and cultural resources. He hoped that the French insiders could better understand and then help promote the tourism resources of Guangdong through this exchange meeting.
