(Nasdaq: PWRD) ("Perfect World" or the "Company"), a leading online game developer and operator in China, announced that the Company will launch open beta testing for its first mysterious adventure MMORPG, "Battle of the Immortals" on April 2, 2009. The famous Chinese magician Lu Chen is the spokesperson of the game.
"Battle of the Immortals" is one of Perfect World’s major titles for 2009. It runs on the Company’s proprietary "Cube" engine, which depicts scenes in rich texture. Together with its abundant skill effect systems, it gives the game a strong visual impression. It is represented by the famous Chinese magician Lu Chen. Both parties will share resources and ideas with an aim of bringing a new sensation to players.
"Battle of the Immortals" will also open the world of Midgard to players in open beta testing, allowing them to embark on an adventure through historic sites to retrieve sacred treasures, and then start their journeys to become gods in the game. The game also features the special "Saint Armor System," "Summoned Beast System" and "Turf War System" to cater to gamers with different interests.
