New Legal Entities Established: Germanischer Lloyd (GL) Strengthens Foothold in China

HAMBURG and SHANGHAI, June 16 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Germanischer Lloyd (GL) announced two new branch companies were established in April 2009 in Shanghai: Germanischer Lloyd Classification Society (China) Co. Ltd. and Germanischer Lloyd Industrial Services (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Both converted from previous representative offices set up in 1994 and 2005 respectively, these newly registered companies represent GL’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market and its clients while enabling them an easier access to GL’s world class expertise and tailor-made services.

Germanischer Lloyd (GL) is an international technical assurance and consulting company as well as a ship classification society. The company with its head office in Hamburg, Germany, employs more than 6,400 highly skilled engineers. Maritime Services
