Family Fun in CENTRAL with the Colourful Carnival Event at the Prince's Building!

HONG KONG, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- CENTRAL's business district will be full of fun and laughter as Hong Kong families head for the Prince's Building for the colourful carnival family celebration running from 28th August to 12th September 2009.

The highlight of the first ever colourful carnival celebration will be on Saturday 29th August and 5th September 2009, from 11am to 5pm when the entire third floor of the Prince's Building will look, feel and smell like a mini carnival with fresh popcorn and cotton candy, entertainers, decorations and lots of giveaways.

Fun for the whole family

Italian Papa Popcorn will be making fresh old-fashioned traditional popcorn and a beautiful princess will be spinning cotton candy/candy floss in the Candy Floss Castle. There will also be a balloon twister, a magician and a cartoonist who will draw caricatures portraits for free or families can pose at Funny Faces for photos in front of various amusing characters. These photos will be printed immediately and given to families who can have them framed at selected stores in the Prince's Building. Other activities include storytelling, crazy golf where Mum, Dad and kids can putt for prizes and roving musicians and mime artists will be on hand to entertain families in the Prince's Building. In addition, there will be a special treat during the two Saturday colourful carnival parties - delicious free Movenpick Ice Cream for kids (while stock lasts).

Educational family sessions

CENTRAL's largest bookshop Bookazine will be hosting a variety of events during this promotional period:

-- Saturday 29th August, throughout the afternoon, a variety of children's

authors, Sarah Brennan, Thea Whittington and Jo Rattigan, will

entertain youngsters with story telling and creative workshops.

-- Saturday 5th September focuses on Fathers, with parenting expert Nury

Vittachi and Tim Dickinson on how Dads can entertain their kids in Hong

Kong.

Educational Afternoon Tea

-- On Wednesday 9th September there will be a special afternoon tea at

Bookazine for mums-to-be. Leading parenting expert Ruth Benny, founder

of Hong Kong Babies.com will give a lecture entitled "Great

Expectations, Notes for Mums-to-be". She'll be joined by Sarah Brennan

who will give child rearing tips for mums and dads.

Special celebrity guests

Celebrity family Michael Wong, his wife Janet Ma and their children will be colourful carnival's special guests on Saturday 29th August. Michael Wong is a famous actor, director, singer and producer and he has appeared in more than 24 movies. Janet Ma was voted as one of 1999's Top 10 Models by the Chinese edition of Elle magazine and she has walked the runways for Balenciaga, Burberry, Celine, Chanel, Dior, Fendi and Gianfranco Ferre. Joining them will be their 3 children. On Saturday 5th September, the celebrity family will be Winnie Young, childcare author and former Miss Hong Kong 1995 and her husband Wong Sui Guen, son of retired racehorse trainer Wong Tang Ping. They will bring their 5 year-old daughter and 3 year-old son with them.
