Lighthouse LED Screens Will Continue to Enthrall Fans Throughout the NFL
Season
HONG KONG, Nov. 20 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Lighthouse Technologies
announced today that it has upgraded its north screen at Seattle Seahawks'
Qwest Field stadium with the latest generation of its M4 LED video
technology.
With advances in technology, this latest announcement sees Lighthouse
Technologies replace the intelligent modules of its existing 16mm pixel
pitch displays with its new, advanced M4 innovation.
Comments Lighthouse Technologies international project manager Mr. Curie
Chan, "As a result, the upgraded LED displays will increase the reliability
and durability of the existing systems.
"In addition, the installation of this new hardware will help the
stadium deliver higher resolution video and graphical images, in turn
improving the picture clarity for fans."
According to Mr. Chan, Lighthouse's giant video boards at Qwest Field
today represent some of the largest viewing surfaces in the NFL offering
spectators seated in the 67,000 capacity stadium the opportunity to enjoy
panoramic views of all the action, including crystal clear live images and
sporting replays.
The two video screens, positioned on the north and south sides of the
stadium, were originally designed, engineered and installed by Lighthouse in
2002. The south board, measuring approximately 84 feet wide by 24 feet
high, displays video images in a super landscape format. In contrast, the
north tower's board is the first ever portrait layout measuring
approximately 44 feet wide by nearly 50 feet high.
Commenting on behalf of Qwest Field, Mr. Kurt Shaffer, Director of
Technical Operations, stated that since the upgrade, the Lighthouse LED
screens had performed exceptionally well and have greatly enhanced the fans'
game day experience.
He comments, "Since I have a rather critical eye when it comes to LED
products what we have now is what I would call a Grade A display and I don't
say that lightly. The uniformity is quite impressive and I'm sure our fans
have noticed this also."
Mr. Shaffer states that a further benefit was that the upgrade work
conducted by Lighthouse Technologies had not disrupted any events at Qwest
Field.
"The system upgrades at Qwest Field stadium were a massive undertaking,"
stressed Mr. Shaffer, "but we are pleased to say that the project went
according to plan without delay or disruption."
"Subsequently, we are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with
Lighthouse Technologies again," he concluded, whilst stating that he hoped
that the cutting-edge technology would continue to entertain Seattle
Seahawks' followers for many years to come.
