SAN RAMON, CALIF., Oct 19 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The GENIVI Alliance, an automotive and consumer electronics industry association driving the development and adoption of an open In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) reference platform, announced today that Jaguar Land Rover and SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company have joined the Alliance, bringing the number of OEM members to eight.
Jaguar Land Rover is a business built around two great British car brands that design, engineer and manufacture in the UK and is part of Tata Motors, India's largest automobile company.
SAIC Motor Corporation, Ltd., whose predecessor was Shanghai Automotive Company Ltd., is the leading manufacturer of passenger vehicles, the largest mini-vehicle maker as well as an automotive maker that has the biggest sales volume in China today.
