BEIJING and CLAREMONT, Calif., Oct. 9 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Kiwa Bio-Tech Products Group Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: KWBT) announced that Kiwa Bio-Tech Products (Shandong) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kiwa Bio-Tech Products Group sold and distributed 80 tons of bio-fertilizer during the month of September 2007. Products were sold under the Kiwa brand names Difukang, Yimuling and Penduoshou.
Products distributed in September include those recently developed at the Kiwa-CAU R&D Center at the China Agriculture University of Beijing. These proprietary fertilizers:
-- use beneficial bacteria as soil amelioration and alternatives to
chemical pesticides
-- are in compliance with new industrial standards and
-- include water flush fertilizers (applied to soil or plants by mixing
with water) ,leaf fertilizer and additional fertilizer.
Sales were conducted through 200 sales outlets in three major planting areas in Shouguang, Shandong Province; the biggest vegetable production base in China. Farms in these areas cover over one million mu (6.07mu = 1 US acre). From October through March these farms grow high value vegetables in greenhouses. Annual consumption of agricultural means of productions (including fertilizer and pesticide) in these areas is over RMB one billion Yuan.
Mr. Wei Li, the Board Chairman and CEO of Kiwa, stated, “With the recent completion of the manufacturing facility upgrade, Kiwa Shandong’s production capacity has been greatly enhanced. The Company is now able to take advantage of the new facilities and equipment and costs are significantly reduced. To satisfy the market demands in the forth quarter of the year, Kiwa Shandong’s workers worked overtime during the National Day holidays. Products will be distributed to major markets including Shandong and Xinjiang. Kiwa Shandong is now making preparations for next year’s marketing activities.”
