India’s media industry is thriving.
The economic reform implemented in the 1990s has brought drastic changes to India's media industry. According to a research report by PricewaterhouseCoopers, India’s overall spending on entertainment and media between 2013 to 2018 will expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.6%, more than double the 5.0% CAGR projected for the entertainment and media industry globally. India will far outstrip the CAGR of 5.7% projected for Asia-Pacific as a whole and will be narrowly ahead of China’s 10.9%.
