Kuala Lumpur, 1 August 2022

One of the most prestigious corporate awards ceremonies in Southeast Asia, the International Business Review ASEAN Awards (IBR ASEAN Awards) celebrates the very best of the public and private sectors in the region by giving recognition to organisations and leaders that have achieved excellence in their performance.

For its 2022 iteration, the Awards lives up to its billing by bringing together a panel of adjudicators comprising a who’s who of corporate and media bigwigs from various countries in Asia. These esteemed individuals will utilise their extensive experience in judging the nominees to determine if they are deserving to receive the prestigious prize.

Chairing the Panel is media veteran Datuk Seri Azman Ujang, who during his nearly 50 years as a journalist, editor-in-chief, CEO and Chairman of Malaysia’s national news agency BERNAMA has interviewed and networked with monarchs, Presidents, Prime Ministers and Ministers the world over.

Hailing from India, Arun Chawla – the Director-General of India’s apex business chamber Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) – brings the knowledge of his 35 years in the Indian corporate sector to the table as a member of the IBR ASEAN Awards Adjudication Panel.

Representing Singapore on the IBR ASEAN Awards Adjudication Panel is veteran banker and President of the UAE-Singapore Business Council Dr Brian Shegar, who helped establish and run the Asia-Pacific operations of Emirates NBD – one of the Middle East’s largest banks and 40 years of experience in banking and finance.

The founding Member of the ASEAN Future Workforce Council (AFWC), the first female President of the Institution of Surveyor, Engineer and Architect in Brunei, a member of the Brunei Legislative Council, and co-Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, YB Siti Rozaimeriyanty Abd Rahman adds another feather to her cap as Brunei’s representative on the IBR ASEAN Awards Adjudication Panel.

From Indonesia, we have Hans Lukiman – a member of 2022 G20 Indonesia Presidency Group, Head of Asia Pacific Relations at the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association and Head of the Permanent Committee for Asia Pacific at the International Relations at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN).

Dato’ Beatrice Nirmala – CEO of Awards organiser The IBR Asia Group – said, “We are very pleased and proud to have been able to gather together such a power-pack group of individuals. There are many awards that claim to be regional, but few if any are able to gather together a panel of adjudicators from all over the region.”

“I believe that the nominees of the IBR ASEAN Awards 2022 can have confidence in knowing that their entries are being judged by such a prestigious group with such a diverse wealth of experience,” she continued.
