Langkawi, Malaysia, 8 June 2023- SAR Aero Services Sdn Bhd has been awarded the Award for Corporate Excellence in the Aerospace Sector for Providing Outstanding Search and Rescue Training at the inaugural IBR Global Maritime and Aerospace Awards (IBR GMA Awards) which was held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) in Langkawi on 26 May 2023.
SAR Aero Services is the first provider of advanced search and rescue (SAR) training in Malaysia, and is focused on training pilots and SAR crew to operate in all weather conditions. Its training courses encompass pilot and co-pilot training as well as training for helicopter hoist operations (HHO), rescue divers (RS), and Aircraft System Officer. In addition, it also provides courses for Flight Deck Officers (FDO) and Night Vision operations.
The organisation’s modules are also noted for their use of real-world conditions such as carrying out training in the South China Sea and the Straits of Malacca with drills carried out in difficult weather, stormy seas and the night time.
As a result of their expertise, SAR Aero Services has been appointed by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) as an SAR training provider. This has helped the MMEA save significant costs as previous the agency had to send its SAR crew overseas to France to receive advanced SAR training.
Speaking at the IBR GMA Awards Gala Dinner and Presentation Ceremony, SAR Aero Services Chief Executive Officer Maj (R) Che Zulhikam Abidin said, “There are no words to describe just how happy I am that the company has been selected to win this Award” and affirmed the company’s commitment to be one of the best search and rescue training providers, not only in Malaysia but the region as well.
