For most, the weekends are one of the few moments where one can kick back and wash all the worries of the past week away, a refresher for the pressure-cooker of a week that is to come. But for some, the call to lend a helping hand for those in need stops for no one, and that was certainly in full force in the kitchens of a certain non-profit governmental organization we all know and love.
This Saturday, CSR Malaysia had the great opportunity to team up with Food Aid Foundation on “Cooking for a Cause,” a collaborative food project that saw the teams cooking up a storm for the 100 refugees of Ruth Education Centre, a residential campus for refugee students established by Pastor Michael Moey, the founder and principal of REC.
CSR Malaysia and Food Aid Foundation also had the unique pleasure of having Mr Dheeraj Raina, the newly-appointed Media CEO of acclaimed advertising firm Dentsu Malaysia, on board to show off his cooking skills and add a little warmth of his own to the occasion, as the team worked meticulously to ensure that each hearty meal was made to perfection, all in the name of a good deed.
