Casting a Media Shadow Across the World

Three years ago, two advertising professionals turned their attention to the hobby of collecting model cars and launched a brand that has very quickly grown into a profitable digital media name seen in over 70 countries. Starting as just an interesting idea that related to their own collecting madness the brand CastHeads has turned into a media platform that involves hundreds of thousands of readers and fans that interact with both the monthly magazine and its social media platforms daily.

Even during the pandemic CastHeads magazine has managed to turn profits and revenue, which are solely based on advertising in foreign markets for international brands. The last three years has seen many milestones for the plucky little brand; for example, last year, CastHeads Magazine became a de facto brand ambassador for PUMA motorsports line of footwear and clothing, as well as media sponsor for the Tarmac Works eRacing team in the GT World Challenge Asia eSports Championship 2020, whose cars carried CastHeads Magazine branding in all the races.

Earlier this year CastHeads was inducted into the Model Car Hall of Fame Class of 2020 as the Best e-Magazine. An extreme honor that made CastHeads celebrates by buying the Model Car Hall of Fame this June 2021. This is CastHeads Magazine’s first international acquisition, and they hope to bring it to more popularity in Europe and Asia from next year.

Another milestone celebrated would be the launch of the very first printed issue in Europe. Thanks to the collaborative effort of SOLIDO MODELS, the anniversary issue is being printed as a test and will be distributed in France, Germany and Austria as a very special limited edition.

Finally, this month has also been the month CastHeads hires its first full time staff member with plans to commit to more awesome content and a project with one of the largest toy companies in the world, the Simba Dickie Group.

For founders, Lance K Müller and Nigel J De Zilwa, this has been both an eye-opening experience and an exciting ride in the world of entrepreneurship. CastHeads Magazine is the first periodical to enter the international digital media/publication world from Sri Lanka, and as the media world becomes more integrated CastHeads magazine is in the ideal position to provide excellent branding and advertising possibilities to a global market.
