Amid rising medical costs and urban hospital overcrowding, the healthcare landscape is undergoing a strategic shift from hospital-centric treatment to proactive prevention and early health management. In response to "National Health Day," the Smart Healthcare 2026 - Startup Connection Day was held on April 8, 2026, at the Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB).

The event served as a bridge between healthcare policy, clinical expertise, and the innovation ecosystem, aiming to accelerate proactive health solutions in Ho Chi Minh City.

A Convergence of Policy and Innovation
Co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Health, SIHUB, the Public Health Association, and Chao Dai Viet Co., Ltd. Family Doctor (Bác Sĩ Gia Đình), the event drew over 1,000 visitors. It featured more than 50 exhibition booths showcasing nearly 70 advanced medical technologies and equipment from domestic startups and enterprises.

Opening the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Hue, Deputy Director of the HCMC Department of Science and Technology, emphasized: "The healthcare industry is pivoting toward a model centered on prevention and continuous health management. In this process, science, technology, and innovation have become key factors in helping citizens access quality medical services easily."

Echoing this vision, Dr. Nguyen Van Vinh Chau, Deputy Director of the HCMC Department of Health, stated: "The city's health sector is moving from a 'curing' mindset to 'proactive prevention,' managing health across every citizen's entire life cycle."

Showcasing the Future of Medical Tech
The exhibition floor highlighted digital transformation solutions across several core sectors: Digital Health, AI, and Telehealth: Pioneers like HOPT Co. LTD showcased AI-driven solutions (AI.DFS, AINurse), while Kinis AI Vietnam presented an AI-integrated movement health ecosystem. Other notable participants included HIO (early risk warning platforms) and Voria Solution (next-gen telehealth).

Hospital Digitalization: Companies such as SUNS Software JSC and CCDS introduced AI-integrated clinic management software, while Pione Group demonstrated the application of Blockchain in medical record management.

Medical Devices and Chronic Disease Management: Yuwell Medical Vietnam introduced a homecare ecosystem integrated with Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM). Gorton showcased the TruScreen@ULTRA cervical cancer screening device, capable of detecting lesions up to 20 years in advance with near-instant results.

3D Printing and Specialized Tools: 3D Tech Vision presented 3D-printed titanium models for orthopedic and maxillofacial surgery, marking a leap in precision medicine.

The event was structured into two main tracks: Policy-Model and Technology-Market.

The morning session, "Solutions for Universal Proactive Healthcare," focused on preventive medicine foundations. The afternoon session, "Innovation – Shaping the Future of Proactive Healthcare," delved into Personal Health Records (PHR), AI infrastructure, and the application of neuroscience in community care.

A highlight of the event was the Healthcare Founder Meetup, where startups pitched their solutions directly to hospitals, investors, and experts. This provided a vital platform for projects within the city’s incubation programs to validate their clinical value and address real-world medical needs.

SMART HEALTHCARE 2026 was more than a specialized exhibition; it represented a strategic milestone in the transformation of the city’s healthcare system toward a proactive, data-driven approach.
