"@cosme THE BEST COSMETICS AWARDS" are designed to honor the products that are currently supported by consumers, as judged from word-of-mouth reviews posted on @cosme (https://www.cosme.net), Japan's largest comprehensive website about cosmetics and beauty care information. The awards have been announced every year since 2000, drawing attention from consumers and the cosmetics industry in Japan as well as consumers abroad. In 2017, istyle launched the magazine-book in traditional Chinese characters in addition to its original Japanese-language edition, with the aim of providing overseas consumers keen on Japanese beauty products and the @cosme platform with information in their native language on popular cosmetics in Japan. The effort has paid off, prompting the company to sell the traditional Chinese edition again this year.
