"Hit by a series of natural disasters, it's been a year of trials for Osaka," Osaka Governor Ichiro Matsui said, representing the festival's executive committee. "But Osaka won't be overwhelmed by disasters. We'll move forward with smiling faces. I wish to turn the Osaka Culture and Arts Festival into an opportunity to demonstrate that power."

One of the guests was Osaka-born world-renowned designer Junko Koshino, who has taken part in the Paris Fashion Week many times. She spoke of her enthusiasm to stage a fashion show at the Osaka Prefectural Government Building, the oldest public office building currently in use in Japan, as well as her thoughts about Osaka.

One of the world's 32 existing Ferrari FXX-K machines, which are admired as pieces of art for their design and form, was displayed before its scheduled appearance in the F1 program.
