Everyone loves love stories and everyone has one to tell. But today, arguably no other love story is as talked about or is as celebrated as that of Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle. Their wedding, which happened last weekend, was one of the most anticipated and watched events of the year. After all, it's not every day that a prince gets married -- much less one who's often called England's favorite prince.

While the world watched this beautiful romance unfold, everyone collectively celebrated and "awww"-ed as we learned more and more about the new royal couple. And as with all love stories, there's always something wonderful to take from it, so here are five of our favorite relationship lessons that we learned from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

1. Keep it Sweet and Simple

Despite the wealth and influence that comes with being royalty, Prince Harry proved that you don't need extravagant gestures or grandiose displays to express your feelings and prove your love to your special someone.

During an interview with BBC News, the couple revealed that their engagement happened during a cozy night together in their cottage, while they were trying to roast a chicken for dinner.

"It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee," Meghan Markle shared in the interview.

2. Love is Blind

Did you know that the royal couple met on a blind date? A common friend of Prince Harry and Meghan felt that they would definitely make a great couple, so she set them up.

Not having known too much about each other before their first meeting helped the two get to know each other from their own points of views, and not from the news or the media.

"I didn't know much about him, and so the only thing that I had asked her when she said that she wanted to set us up, was, I had one question. I said, 'Well is he nice?'" Megan said to BBC as the couple sat side by side. It proves that only we can truly choose and judge what our heart really wants.

3. Quality Time Is Crucial

Going from dating to engaged in about a year and a half can be whirlwind for most people, but to the new royal couple, it wasn't really the case because of the time they had put into bonding and getting to know each other.

"I think we were able to really have so much time just to connect and we never went longer than two weeks without seeing each other," Meghan told BBC.

And true enough, the new royal couple put in the effort to make time for each other. Only a few weeks after they met, they had already gone on a camping trip together in Botswana.

"We were really by ourselves. Which I think was crucial to me to make sure we had a chance to get to know each other," Prince Harry added.

And since then, the couple wasted no time going on more trips, attending weddings or sporting events, watching plays, and even shopping for Christmas trees. It only goes to show that love grows truer and deeper when you really spend your time connecting.

4. Family Matters

With Prince Harry, it's inevitable that his family will be fairly involved and present in his relationships -- but with Meghan, the couple gladly put family in the center.

Meghan and Harry have spent time with Harry's brother, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, and Meghan has already met the Queen multiple times as well. Even the Queen's corgis have taken a great liking to her.

But perhaps one of the most beautiful symbols of family in their relationship lie in Meghan's engagement ring. Prince Harry specially selected the diamonds in the ring from his late mother, Princess Diana's, personal collection. It was very important to the couple to include her in their engagement.

"I think she would be over the moon, jumping up and down, you know so excited for me, but then, as I said, would have probably been best friends with Meghan," Prince Harry shared last November. "Its days like this I really miss having her around," he adds.

5. Relationships Are About Teamwork

In interviews, the royal couple always call themselves as a team, and it's not hard to see it either. Always hand in hand in photos and clearly supportive of each other when being interviewed, the couple exudes unity and strength.

Meghan has attended Prince Harry's polo matches, while both Harry and Meghan have supported many charities, which is in line with Ms. Markle's humanitarianism.

As the pair held hands on the couch during a BBC interview, Prince Harry says: "We're a fantastic team. We know we are. And, we hope to over time try and have as much impact for all the things that we care about as much as possible. I know that at the end of the day, she chooses me and I choose her. And therefore, you know, whatever we have to tackle together or individually, it will always be us together as a team. "
