Cultural Exhibition Sector Becomes New Driver of Chinese Economic Growth

SHENZHEN, China, May 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 12th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) kicked off on May 12, 2016 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, China. The event was co-organized by The Kangba art-themed pavilion, set up in cooperation with the government of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, has drawn the attention of institutional investors interested in the global cultural industry as well as of visitors from around the world, becoming a highlight of the fair.

The 153,000 square kilometer-Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province is the home of Kangba art. Besides being one of China's three major birthplaces of Tibetan culture, it is also where several other elements that are intrinsic to Chinese culture originated, including two world-famous Chinese folk songs: Kang Ding Love Song and the Epic of Gesar. The region's three projects, including the epic King Gesar and Tibetan opera, have been included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In addition, the region has 23 national-level intangible cultural heritage projects and nine national-level representative cultural inheritors.

As an important platform for promoting Chinese cultural products to the world, this year's event has attracted 115 international exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions worldwide. Notably, the Kangba art-themed pavilion has gained a lot of attention from numerous visitors with its national and regional uniqueness.
