SHANGHAI, April 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Luxury cruise brand, Cunard, has today unveiled its January to May 2019 programme called the 'Oceans of Discovery' which will include a voyage to Alaska. This will be the first time that the current fleet will have traveled to Alaska, and the first time that the cruise line will have ventured there in over 20-years. From January to May 2019, Cunard's iconic flagship Queen Mary 2 and her sisters Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria will call at 49 different countries and 109 destinations. Of these, 21 are maiden calls and exciting new destinations include Boracay (Philippines), Akita (Japan) and Goa (India).

Committed to listening to our guests from around the world, Cunard has also announced it is providing ever more variety and options to select the ultimate Cunard experience. Queen Victoria shall operate the only full circumnavigation in 2019 called 'The world voyage by Cunard'.  This will leave Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth with greater flexibility to travel to a mixture of destinations and itineraries. A single world cruise in addition to this overall simplified winter proposition is intended to make it easier than ever before for agents to sell.

Key voyage highlights for 2019 include:

The World Voyage by Cunard: Queen Victoria will operate Cunard's only full circumnavigation in 2019 and will follow the most popular routing, the classic Western Circumnavigation via the Panama Canal. Guests can select to do parts of the route through to the full 107-night experience ending with the Indian Ocean and South Africa before returning to Southampton. Cunard has undertaken more world voyages and sent more ships around the globe than any other passenger lines, making us the true experts in world voyages.

Grand Voyages by Cunard: For those looking for classic ocean journeys, that take in some of the most iconic sights and destinations in the world, whilst typically enjoying the wonders of more sea days, Cunard has 34 Grand Voyages. These highlighted journeys range from 11 to 108 nights in length.

Alaska: Queen Elizabeth will undertake her first-ever Alaskan voyage, marking the first time Cunard has crossed Alaskan waters in over 20 years. The ship will cross the North Pacific and Gulf of Alaska en route to Vancouver, giving customers a unique and inspiring experience of breath taking views.

Australasia: With cruises throughout Australasia rapidly growing in popularity, Cunard's Queen Elizabeth will operate round-trip voyages between February and late March from Melbourne and Sydney to the popular regions of South Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand.

Japan: From mid-March to late April, Cunard's Japanese deployment will consist of two round trip voyages of seven and nine nights, including a nine-night voyage to experience the famed cherry blossom season in the north of the country. On this voyage, Queen Elizabeth will make maiden calls to no less than five Japanese ports.

Other fly cruises: Queen Mary 2's winter deployment will see Cunard's flagship travel a programme of exciting voyages from the UK, through the Mediterranean, Arabian Gulf, Indian Ocean to Far East and back. These voyages range in length from one to three weeks but can be combined in many ways allowing guests to create the ideal travel experience of their choice, through to the full 94 day adventure.

Cunard will also be re-introducing a series of ten 'old favourite' destinations that we haven't traveled to in recent years, including Beijing (China), Picton (New Zealand) Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and Chennai (India).
