Domus Academy Launches New Scholarship Competitions for September 2016 Masters Programs

In partnership with leading companies, the institution encourages candidates interested in studying at world-renown Domus Academy to participate in the scholarship competitions by the April 15, 2016 deadline

MILANO, Italy, March 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Domus Academy, one of the most prestigious post-graduate design schools in the world, unveils a series of new competitions for Master's programmes commencing in September 2016.

Each of the competitions will award 3 scholarships to students interesting in enrolling in a world-renown Master's program. More than 30 scholarships will be awarded to students in the amounts of 40, 50 or 60 percent of the total tuition costs, in addition to two special mentions, receiving an additional 20 percent in scholarship. All students engaged in the fields of design and fashion can apply to win the awards. Domus Academy's Master in Business Design in partnership with The Coca-Cola Company launches Entrepreneurship Through Design: candidates will select a new company they consider innovative to create design solutions benefiting social and environmentally sustainable causes, or to innovatively rethink local products or to test new applications taking advantage of materials or technologies. The competition is open to graduates and young professionals from the design world and from economic science and humanities faculties wishing to learn to combine entrepreneurial creativity and mindsets through a multidisciplinary approach. Projects are to be submitted by 15 April 2016 and will be evaluated by a panel comprising Faculty from the Master's programme at Domus Academy.

The Master in Fashion Design at Domus Academy, in collaboration with Vogue Talents, launches Call for talents #7, offering scholarships for young talents able to think outside of the box, aspiring to experience the Italian fashion culture. The contest is open to graduates in fashion design, architecture and from art schools, as well as individuals with experience in the fashion industry. Candidates are to submit their projects by 15 April 2016. The projects will be evaluated by a panel comprising Master Faculty, the Domus Academy Fashion School and Sara Maino – Senior Editor at Vogue Italia and Vogue Talents.

In order to participate in the Master in Fashion Styling & Visual Merchandising competition , in collaboration with Vogue Talents, candidates will be required to submit a global project based on creations from a mood-board intended to evoke new ideas, to promote creative elements for fashion designers and/or Visual Merchandisers. Candidates will need to keep their eyes invariably alert to beauty and originality, in order to discover and capture elements and details specific to their cities and to create a personal visibly inspired project.  The projects will be evaluated by a panel made up of Master Faculty, the Domus Academy Fashion School and Sara Maino – Senior Editor at Vogue Italia and Vogue Talents.

Domus Academy's Master in Fashion Management, in collaboration with THE BEST SHOPS - Camera Italiana Buyer Moda (Italian Fashion Buyer Chamber), launches The Future of Luxury Fashion Retail: candidates are invited to conduct extensive global research in the luxury sector. The research should cover current retail sale formats and main recent developments in terms of business and innovation concept models. Candidates are to submit by 15 April 2016 a summary of their insights and develop a portrait of consumers of luxury goods who purchase products online worldwide: life styles, purchasing behaviour, dominant trends and forecasts for the future. The projects will be evaluated by a panel made up of Master Faculty, the Domus Academy Fashion School and Members of the Italian Fashion Buyer Chamber.

The Master in Luxury Brand Management at Domus Academy, in collaboration with DoDo, presents Unconventional Jewellery: The Power of Emotions, a competition directed at all professionals and graduates from creative disciplines wishing to gain marketing and brand management skills, and graduates from business and social science faculties desiring to enrich their knowledge of the luxury marketCandidates will be asked to conduct a positioning analysis of DoDo in terms of brand and communication strategies, comparing the same with those of its main competitors in France and Germany. Applicants will also be required to put forward a brand development plan, including storytelling, marketing proposals and a communication plan centred around DoDo brand values. All projects are to be submitted by 15 April 2016 and will be assessed by a panel comprising Master Faculty, the Domus Academy Fashion School and Angela Za – Marketing Manager at DoDo.

Domus Academy's Master in Interaction Design in partnership with Condé Nast presents Next Page for individuals interested in developing interdisciplinary skills relating to conceptualization, project design and evaluation of innovative solutions extending into the world of digital communication. The projects, which are to be submitted by 22 April 2016, may include an application, a digital device or a web service that explores contemporary and future worlds, showcasing interactive digital technology potential. The competition is open to candidates with professional experience in the fields of design, visual design and graphics, media and web design, architecture, computer science, engineering, communications, science, psychology and sociology. The projects will be evaluated by a panel made up of Master Faculty and Barbara Corti, Digital Product Director at Condé Nast.

The Master in Interior & Living Design at Domus Academy, in partnership with Bitossi Home, presents Social Kitchen, focusing on the design of new concepts for "social kitchens" of the future, in which conceptual and physical boundaries between social and personal spaces disappear. Candidates are invited to explore kitchen concepts to respond to evolving human needs and expectations in relation to social and private lives, submitting, by 22 April 2016, a design project for contemporary social kitchens that springs from reflections on the advanced use of kitchen spaces. The projects will be evaluated by a panel made up of Faculty from the Master's and Ginevra Bocini – Director at Bitossi Home.

Domus Academy's Master in Product Design, in partnership with Magis, presents Plast-it,
a competition open to all design and architecture graduates and to individuals with a professional background in the design sector. Candidates are invited to identify a new design solution for a specific item of furniture: the plastic stool. The product should be adjustable in height, designed for both public and private use and should reflect and emphasise the values of the brand, while taking into account the strengths and weaknesses of the material used, that is plastic. Projects are to be submitted by 22 April 2016 and will be evaluated by a panel comprising of Faculty from the Master's and Barbara Minetto – Marketing Manager at Magis.

Domus Academy's Master in Visual Brand Design, in partnership with Bastard presents Bastards Everywhere, which aims to identify an area and/or a location for the opening of a new flagship store, creating a coordinated image able to attract and involve new customers from different parts of the world. The new Flagship Store will leverage the strength, with regard to communication, and key values of Bastard through a "cultural project", considering contextual opportunities and using the company's approach to the cultural identity of the country chosen by individual candidates.

Projects are to be submitted by 22 April 2016 and will be evaluated by a panel made up of Master Faculty and Claudio Bernardini - Bastard.

The Master in Urban Vision & Architectural Design in partnership with Covestro presents RE-CITY: Reuse existing buildings to create city of the future.

Candidates are invited to choose an existing building, located within the urban fabric of any city in the world, which has been abandoned and/or is unused, and to explore new spatial and functional identities of the same. Focusing on the most appropriate formula based on the main characteristics of the context, candidates are invited to design a building for a public activity (for example, a museum, library, theatre, etc), able to re-stimulate use of the space.

Projects are to be submitted by 22 April 2016 and will be evaluated by a panel made up of Faculty from the Master's.
