Trevor Russell, Chief Executive Officer of Infineum, has been selected as the inaugural "Asia-Pacific F&L Person of the Year". The award recognizes an individual's outstanding contribution to the Fuels & Lubricants industry in the region. Mr. Russell was chosen, from an illustrious list of nominees, by F+L Week's independent Conference Advisory Board to acknowledge his leadership role in expanding manufacturing and supply capability for petroleum additives in the Asia-Pacific region.

"Trevor has over 35 years' experience in the additives industry and is the mastermind behind Infineum's growth strategy in the Asian region," says Vicky Villena-Denton, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of F&L Asia, the major industry publisher that hosts the popular industry conference dedicated to base oils, lubricants, petroleum additives and transport fuels. "I couldn't think of a worthier recipient of this outstanding award."

The other big winner at the 2017 F&L Awards is Chevron Oronite. Their product, OLOA® 55516, has been chosen as the "Product Development of the Year". This category recognizes innovation in the Fuels & Lubricants industry, encompassing significant improvements to products and related processes, that render a product more efficient and with improved ecological use.

Receiving the award on behalf of Chevron Oronite is Barbara Smith, Vice President, Products and Technology for Chevron Oronite.

OLOA® 55516 was selected due to its noteworthy dexos 1™: 2015 approval by General Motors (GM). Chevron Oronite is the first company to develop additive chemistry and formulative technology meeting the new requirements for next generation GM engines.

"Achieving this specification is an important development that impacts GM vehicles globally as well as in the Asia-Pacific region," says Dr. Selda Gunsel, a member of the F+L Week Conference Advisory Board, General Manager of Products & Quality in Shell's Global Lubricants Supply Chain, and recently elected to the National Academy of Engineering in the U.S.A, one of the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer.

Winners will be formally recognized during a ceremony at the F+L Week Appreciation Dinner, to be held on March 9, 2017 at the Four Seasons Hotel. Dr. Gunsel will present the awards. The recipients will also be showcased in Fuels + Lubes Online and featured in Fuels & Lubes International magazine.
