Gateway to a Professional Accounting Qualification

JAKARTA, Indonesia, April 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (also known as the Association), established by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), has launched a new Corporate Professional Pathway for finance and business professionals seeking a fast track to a professional accounting qualification. This qualification leads to the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation, recognized worldwide by employers who trust CGMAs to guide critical business decisions for strong company performance.

The Corporate Professional Pathway is open to executives with work experience in finance, accounting and business. Based on their work experience, they can enter the Pathway at three levels of the CIMA Professional Qualification - Operational, Management or Strategic levels. At the highest Strategic level, the requirement is only 4 exams while it is 5 exams at the Management level and 9 exams at the Operational level, instead of 16 exams. CIMA will assess a potential candidate's work experience that meet the CGMA Competency Framework in order to be eligible to enter this Pathway. Upon passing all the exams and after approval of their membership application submission, candidates will become CGMAs.

Candidates can opt for online study that is supported by webcasts, mock exams and ask-an-expert live sessions as well as face-to-face classes conducted by CIMA's Global Learning Partner in Indonesia.

By joining the Corporate Professional Pathway, candidates will save time and effort as they will be completing a shorter journey to become a CGMA.

Venkkat Ramanan, Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific, said:

"The Corporate Professional Pathway is a unique offering to boost the development of talent for companies in Indonesia where work experience is the criteria for entry into the Pathway. It is also a good opportunity for companies to retain their key talent and upskill those with the potential for leadership. Worldwide, there are now 150,000 CGMAs who are recognised for their high-calibre decision making skills to drive long-term performance and bottom-line results. This is crucial as business leaders are now under pressure to get it right in an environment where change is relentless."
